Graffiti decorations Under the sky of dust A constant wave of tension On top of broken trust The lessons that you taught me I learned were never true Charai and Raith; the two newest additions to their original two man squad. It was an unspoken agreement between Zaharai and Invidai that they would both get pokemon that complimented the other's pokemon. The advantage of having a well balanced pokemon team, as well as having pokemon who's personalities 'agreed' was enormous, and also the basis for the silent pact they had both unknowingly agreed to. As was the nature of the relationship between sister and brother. Now I find myself in question They point the finger at me again Guilty by association You point the finger at me again Zaharai walked a good few feet in front of Invidai, Raith, the small orange bird pokemon at his feet. He accepted the fact that he was immensely lucky to find a pokemon who had the exact attributes he was looking for, the ones that were so similar to his own. Even if it was only at level five like all the other starter pokemon he recognized it strengths (and weaknesses) and felt quite comfortable with his choice. A short glance over his shoulder told him that Invidai was indeed following him, just at her own pace and with a happy little star-shaped pokemon in her arms. He gave an inward sigh, his head hanging slightly. Just when he had her figured out, she did something completely out of character and unpredictable, changing the way he viewed her entirely... But maybe she was like that: unpredictable. He sighed inwardly again and allowed his mind to roam the more pressing matters of pokemon training. I wanna run away Never say goodbye I wanna know the truth Instead of wondering why Invidai trailed down Route One slowly, checking that Zaharai hadn't run off ahead of her every few steps. He seemed a bit down, she thought, though it was always hard to tell with him. If he wanted to tell her, he would. It was one of those things that she knew about Zaharai; he would tell her what he wanted to tell her, when he wanted to tell her, and know amount of prying or pestering could convince him otherwise. But she wouldn't let thoughts of her difficult brother affect her mood, no sir, she was going to focus on the little pink star of cuteness cradled in her arms. Charai, the little pink star of cuteness, made a small 'eep'ing sound to attract her trainer, while looking up at her with a slightly worried expression. Invidai smiled warmly down at it, the Cleffa mirroring her expression in happiness. It couldn't help worrying about its new trainer, the nice girl who wore all-black... Charai didn't have it in her to go against her warm and caring nature. I wanna know the answers No more lies I wanna shut the door And open up my mind "We should stop for a while, get some training in." The red haired teen turned to face his companion, who looked up at him with a more than slightly confused expression. "It's harder to train when you're on the move, and it would also be easier for us to assess them and offer help." Invidai nodded, looking down to the cleffa that was sitting in her arms quite happily. Paper bags and angry voices Under a sky of dust Another wave of tension Has more than filled me up [/i] "You wanna train, Charai? ...What's that? You do?! Oh, that's great!" She grinned as the Cleffa jumped out of her arms and landed onto the ground with a squeal of joy. Raith raised an eyebrow along with his trainer, who were observing the two females with amusement. "Now, why don't we wait for another pokemon to come along, first, so then we can work on the areas that we think are in need of the most work?" Zaharai nodded absently, eyes already scanning the foliage for movement. All my talk of taking action These words were never true [/i]

There was rustling in the grass nearby, then three- no, four- heads popped out of the ground. It was a small group of Rattata. <What the-> One of the said. <What- who- is that?> It looked at Charai with a strange look, then, all at once, the Rattata looked at Invidai, then Zaharai. Then they looked at Raith, then Charai again. <Interesting.> One of them mumbled. They looked at the group like they were a bomb about to explode.

Zaharai scowled when Raith began to hop over to the group of Rattata, Charai not far behind the little bird pokemon. His companion, Invidai, just smiled and watched as the two pokemon walked over to the four purple rodents.
/Hello.../ Charai murmured rather shyly, still hanging behind who she perceived was the stronger of the two, Raith. The torchc growled and jumped forward a bit, looking more than ready to fight, much to Zaharai's delight.

The biggest Sentret, who appeared to be the leader of the group, took a small step forward, glaring at Raith. A smaller Sentret who was in front, waved the Charai. <Hello!> She said with a small smile.

Charai gave a large and overexaggeratted grin and Raith scowled (or did the bird-like equivilent). The pink-star pokemon floated one step forward, rather oblivious to the larger, scarier Sentret who was in a glaring contest with the Torchic. /I'm Charai! Nice to meet you./, she curtsied at the end for affect, her grin replaced by a serene smile, which in turn made her watchful trainer smile at her pokemon's antics.
Raith looked warily at the Sentret, mentally sizing it up. The pokemon didn't seem to friendly... but, nevertheless, he would wait until his moody trainer gave him an order. He chanced a quick look at the red-head, whose bright jade eyes were focused on him. Suddenly, a slight shiver of fear shot up his back, making his orange feathers fluff up. Yeah, that red-head scared him, but he'd die before he admitted it. Raith glared back at the large and quite imposing Sentret, more than ready to attack it's sorry a- behind.

The larger Sentret merely kept glaring at Raith, never taking it's eyes off him.
The smaller Sentret did a sort of curtsy in reply. <I'm, uh... uh... a Sentret.> It said, frowning slightly, but then grinning. <It's nice to meet you!>

Zaharai sighed boredly and walked over to the nearest tree, leaning on it as he watched the exchange with blank green eyes. It wasn't that he found raising pokemon boring, but he was beginning to become impatient with the staring contest and the incredibly cute jabbering. What were they waiting for? ...Hold on. They were probably waiting for their trainers to tell them what to do, being the lovely patient pokemon they were (it's a shame that no one else could quite appreciate his sarcastic input, another reason for his quietness). "Raith, attack using scratch." Zaharai sounded just as bored as he felt, absently kicking a stone with his shoe.
Invidai didn't say anything, but studied the smaller Sentret and then Charai... Maybe this wouldn't result in a fight. Hopefully. She didn't know what her psychopathic twin was doing, but she trusted him to think about it because, well, he was Zaharai, chess/strategy game extrodinaire (in her opinion anyway).
/Why is your friend glaring at us? Did we do something?/ Charai asked softly while backing away from the larger Sentret. That was when, after careful thought, the Torchic launched forward to attack the glaring Sentret. /...Nevermind./

The larger Sentret managed to dodge, just barely out of the reach of the tearing claws of the Torchic. It used Defense Curl, preparing itself. <You've gotten yourself into some trouble, eh, birdy?> The large Sentret said, as the Sentret behind used Defense Curl as a precaution.
<I'm not the battle type.> The smaller Sentret said with a sigh, turning away from the battle and focusing on Charai again.

Raith gave an indignant squawk and once again hurtled towards the large Sentret. How dare it call him 'Birdy'? What right did that little--or not so little--puffball have to insult him? It wasn't like the pokemon should be that difficult for him to defeat, and he did have Charai as--dare he say it--back up if it was necessary. /Fight me./ It was more of a snarl than anything, charging head first towards the brown pokemon.
"Indai, why isn't your pokemon fighting?" Zaharai scowled and glanced at his sister, who seemed to be ignoring him. He turned back to look at Charai, who still hadn't done anything but talk to the strange Sentret, and his scowl intensified.
Charai smiled and nodded. /I'm not either... I don't really want to hurt anyone./

The larger Sentret smirked. Since Raith didn't attack, merely charged ((or that's what I understand)), the Sentret easily dodged, then shot forward with Quick Attack.
The smaller Sentret glared at Zaharai. <Be nice to my friend!> It said, shaking a tiny fist at the boy. <If you're so tough, attack us yourself, pink squishy tall thing!> With that said, it turned back to Charai as if nothing had happened, and nodded. <I only attack if they attack first, or if they really deserve it.> It said as-a-matter-of-factly.

/That's fair.../ Charai giggled. /And that pink squishy tall thing is my trainer's... brother? I think she said something like that. But he's just quiet... I don't think he means any harm.../ She trailed off when she saw Raith get knocked a good few feet from a simple quick attack. What had happened...?
Raith jumped to his feet and snarled, before going in for another scratch attack, now thoroughly peeved.

This time, the larger Sentret was hit, but immidiately fired back with a Quick Attack. No hesitation there. In it's eyes, it was protecting it's little family group.
The smaller Sentret nodded. <Yeah... So, what are you and your humans doing here, anyways?> It asked, curious. It tilted its head to one side as it awaited an answer.

Again, the Torchic was hit, but this time its stumble was significatnly smaller. Raith took a quick and deep breath of air before trying to attack with scratch once more. Zaharai, for once, could say he was rather pleased with this sort of resilience.
/Oh, we're going on some sort of adventure to travell the world and t-to help people... Well, that's what my human said anyway and I don't think she'd lie./ Charai spoke softly and smiled when she entioned her trainer. She was very lucky because she could have always gotten stuck with someone like the tall and daunting red head for a trainer. The pink pokemon shivered. /But it should be fun. They're going to train us so that we can get stronger... I-I think./

Again the larger Sentret was hit. Immidiately after being hit, though, it attacked with Quick Attack. A few Sentrets behind used Defense Curl again. They were a cautious group, apparently- not that you could blame them, of course. That's also why they traveled in groups.
The little Sentret seemed facinated. <Wow, that is SO COOL! We never do anything very exciting... this is the first battle we've had in a week, though we're all pretty strong...> She trailed off, then piped up again. <Hey! Do you think your trainer would let me come with you? Catch me or something?>

Charai smiled brightly. /Sure, just gimme a second./ She bounced back to her trainer, who was frowning at a broken nail on her right han, quite oblivious to the pokemnon tugging on her trouser leg. "Cleffa clef-cleffa!"
"Huh?" Invidai looked down at her pokemon and raised an eyebrow in question. The Cleffa pouted with a deep breath began rambling unintelligently, pausing only when she pointed a paw towards the smaller Sentret, smiling brightly. Invidai just stared at the little pokemon like she'd grown a second head. "You mean... the Sentret wants to be captured?" She tried, frowning when Charai nodded profusely and squeaked. "Oh. Okay." She threw a pokeball at the Sentret, hoping that she was, indeed correct.
Meanwhile... Raith gave a pathetic cough as the hit caught him in the ribs, but stumbled back onto rather shaky feet. Damn, the Sentret was stronger than him and, although it pained him to think it, he probably wouldn't be able to win without help from a certain pink ball of fluff. Again, damn. He once again charged at the Sentret, ready for another scratch attack, though his movements becoming more and more sluggish. He'd have to ask for help in a minute; there was no other way.

The attack hit. The Sentret made an angry noise in its throat, then used Defense Curl. It was also growing weak, though it was stronger than the Torchic. It attempted to seem as strong as ever; showing no signs of becoming weaker, even though it was. It was confident that it could win- unless this pokemon had friends.

/Oi,/ Raith coughed, turning his head so that he could look at Charai. /Would you mind giving me a little... help? You don't have to attack 'em, or much, but you can use things like Charm./ The Torchic coughed and shot towards the Sentret to attack again, Charai helping by using Charm against the large Sentret.
((Erm, what happened to the pokeball Invidai threw to try and capture the small Sentret? ^^; ))

The red and white ball floated through the air back to Invidai in a way that was reminiscent of a yo-yo returning to the awaiting hand of the user (she'd only ever played with one once, when she was little, but the unusual toy just made an impression). She caught it in one gloved hand and grinned broadly, punching the air in triumph. Not only had she captured her first pokemon, but she'd caught it before her -- superior -- older twin, the one who always got everything; the one who always won.
"I did it!" Invidai squealed, attaching the pokeball to her belt. Then her attention turned back to the ongoing battle and -- more specifically -- Charai. She looked like she was doing fairly well already, but a little bit of outside help couldn't be a bad thing, right? "Charai, use Encore!"
Naturally, Charai did as she was told, using Encore against the Sentret; the pokemon who had brought harm to her new friend, Raith, even though he probably didn't view her as such. Raith, however, launched another scratch attack, going for the offensive against what was a strong foe.
And, funnily enough, Zaharai seemed to be the only one who stood -- partially shaded by the outstretched branches of the tree -- brooding silently. Nothing was going to plan... Nothing...

The Encore worked, and the Scratch hit. The Sentret used Defense Curl again, thanks to Charai's Encore attack. It scowled, slihgtly confused as to why it wanted to use Defense Curl again.
